Liverpool FC target Hamit Altintop signs for Real Madrid CF

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Turkish midfielder Hamit Altintop, who had been linked with a move to Liverpool

The 28-year-old is the second player to agree a move from the Bundesliga to the Bernabeu this month following the recent signing of Nuri Sahin.

The Turkey international will join Jose Mourinho's side on a free transfer when his contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.

Los Blancos were widely seen as favourites to sign Altintop, who earlier this year had spoken of how he was unhappy being a bit-part player with Bayern.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray were both interested in the midfielder, while Liverpool were last week understood to have made an approach.

Altintop recently said a move to Real would be "a dream."
