Theo Walcott will reportedly hold contract talks with Arsenal this week as he continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
Walcott is out of contract at the end of next season and talks over a new deal at Emirates Stadium are believed to have stalled.
Arsenal are said to fear that following Robin van Persie's recent announcement that he does not plan to sign a new contract, the 23-year-old may follow his captain's lead and look to secure a move away this summer.
But while it remains to be seen whether Van Persie will fly out of London later this week for the club's pre-season tour of Asia, according to Goal.com, Walcott will definitely be on the plane.
According to Thursday's report, the England international will hold talks with senior officials, including manager Arsene Wenger, in the next couple of days to discuss a new four-year contract.
Reports earlier this year had suggested Walcott, who currently earns around £65,000 a week at Arsenal, was seeking a new £100,000-a-week deal.
The Gunners are said to be unwilling to offer him more than £80,000.
Chelsea are also thought to be keen on signing the England international, but as of Thursday afternoon, Liverpool were the huge favourites with bookmakers Sky Bet, who make the Merseysiders even money favourites to be Walcott's next club, ahead of Chelsea (10/1) and Tottenham (16/1).
Walcott has had little to say publicly about his future, although speaking late last year, he stated that he would listen to what the Gunners are willing to offer him.
"I will listen to what Arsenal have to say," he said.
"Hopefully we will sit down with the club soon and talk things over."
Agent Colin Gordon, however, later admitted he did not know if his client would still be at the Emirates next season.
"We'll see," he said. "I don't know what will happen."
