Liverpool FC 2014-15 squad numbers – Dejan Lovren given No. 6 shirt

Dejan Lovren will wear the No. 6 shirt for Liverpool this season.   Lovren joined Liverpool from Southampton in a £20million deal earlier this week.   The defender is the third Saints player to join the Merseysiders during this transfer window.   The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Merseysiders and will be reunited with his former Southampton team-mates Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, who joined Liverpool earlier this summer.   Lovren will take the shirt most recently worn at Anfield by Luis Alberto and previously worn by the likes of club legend Alan Hansen.   “It’s a dream come true,” the Croatia international told his new club’s official website earlier this week.   “I’m happy and glad to be here. I’m proud and can’t wait to start. I know we have millions and millions of supporters – Liverpool is more than a club.   “After I played at Anfield last season, I said to myself: ‘One day I hope I’ll be able to play here for Liverpool’.   “The fans will know from the first minute that I’m a player that will give 100 per cent on the pitch.”
