Speaking ahead of the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed he does not intend to sign any new players next month, insisting he is happy with the squad inherited from Brendan Rodgers.
Klopp has been linked with several players from his former club Borussia Dortmund as well as Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura.
However, the Reds boss has distanced himself from reports suggesting he is looking to make big changes to a squad that has won through to the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup and the last-32 of the Europa League.
“If we need something we will do it and not talk about it before,” Klopp said.
“In this moment, I don’t think about it. No-one should be in doubt that we are not prepared for any situation, we have 24 hours and are always at work.
“We always watch players on video but if we take them in winter, in summer or never, I don’t know at this moment. It’s much more important to work with people. If you trust them, they have to feel it – not just for two days but for a longer time.”
