Mardy Fish takes on Matthew Ebden this afternoon in the second round of the Rogers Cup in Canada (19:30 BST start).

Fish suffered a shock straight sets defeat to Ebden earlier this year and will be out for revenge later today.

He has been struggling with an ankle strain sustained in Atlanta a few weeks ago, but he's forcing himself to play through the pain in order to get in the best possible shape for the US Open. He made it through to the Washington semi-finals last week before losing to eventual runner-up Tommy Haas.

Ebden is a very inconsistent player. One match he can smash down 25 aces and then the next round he'll be wiped out in straight sets.

In his first round clash against Canadian wildcard Peter Polansky on Monday, fans saw Ebden at his best and worst. Obliterated in the first set, he fought back to claim an unlikely 0-6 6-4 6-3 win.

Look for Fish to get revenge from Indian Wells and advance to the next round.

Prediction: Fish in two.
