Novak Djokovic to face Lukas Rosol in round two of the 2013 Miami Masters

Novak Djokovic will face Lukas Rosol in the second round of the 2013 Sony Open in Miami.

Djokovic enters this year’s Miami Masters Open as the pre-tournament favourite for the title, despite his semi-final loss against Juan Martin Del Potro last week in Indian Wells. The Serb blamed a lack of concentration for his departure in California and we can expect him to be back with a bang at Crandon Park.

Djokovic is the top seed for the tournament, which has spared him from a first round match. Instead, he begins his campaign this week with a second round clash against world No. 64 Rosol.

Rosol is a familiar face to tennis fans. Whilst he’s not achieved any stratospheric successes, the Czech is man who beat Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon last summer in one of the best matches we’ve ever seen at the All-England Club. His performance in that clash provided an exemplary display of inspiration, and his shot-making blurred the line between genius and madness.

Djokovic is pretty much a dead-cert to get through this upcoming match in straight sets. That said, there’s a buzz of excitement surrounding the contest as we know how Rosol likes to approach contests such as this. If the unthinkable happens, we can perhaps expect another slew of updates on Rosol’s Wikipedia page outlining his celestial lineage.
