Novak Djokovic edged out Roger Federer on Saturday evening in an incredible five-set semi-final at the US Open.

Djokovic clinched a memorable five-set victory over Federer at Flushing Meadows, with the world No. 1 coming back from two sets down.

Djokovic had been widely tipped to win, but after two sets looked set to be about to lose to the Swiss ace for the second time this season.

But somehow, Djokovic pulled the scoreline level, before completing a breathtaking comeback. The match finished 6-7 4-6 6-3 6-2 7-5 in Djokovic’s favour.

Djokovic is now through to his third Grand Slam final of the season. He would have made it into all four had Federer not denied him at the French Open.

The Serb’s remarkable season has included only two losses, one of which was a recent retirement loss against Britain’s Andy Murray.

Djokovic may get a chance to avenge his loss against Murray though, as the Scot was scheduled to take on Rafael Nadal on Saturday evening.

The fans in Arthur Ashe may well have just sat through an absolute nail-biter, but they’ve still got plenty of excitement ahead tonight.
