The first semifinal from Wimbledon will feature Vera Zvonareva and Tsvetana Pironkova.

Pironkova stunned the Centre Court crowd on Tuesday by defeating five-time champion Venus Williams in the quarter-finals, a result which surprised even the Bulgarian herself.
"Honestly, I still cannot believe that I reached the semi-finals," she said. "I really hope that I have more to offer. I’ll just try to do my best and we'll see what happens."
Zvonareva also turned the formbook on its head in the last eight by defeating US Open champion Kim Clijsters. It is the Russian’s second grand slam semi-final having made the last four of the 2009 Aussie Open and that extra piece of experience may give her an edge on Pironkova who had never previously reached the second week of a slam.
However when these two played in Moscow last year it was not even competitive, Pironkova storming to a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Both women are playing far too well for the scoreline to be that one-sided again. It will undoubtedly be a tense encounter with so much at stage and extra experience can so often prove to be telling in such matches.
Given Zvonareva’s extra experience of the big stages, having been a regular fixture in the top ten over the past few years, the Russian looks like a good bet to reach the final.
