Caroline Wozniacki, Petra Kvitova, Vera Zvonareva, Jelena Jankovic and Francesca Schiavone are the big names in the draw for Brussels.

The 2011 WTA Brussels event is one of two events remaining before the start of the French Open. As such it is the last chance for entrants to hit form before the 2011 Roland Garros draw.

Caroline Wozniacki enters Brussels as the top seed however and the top ranked player in the world. Her ranking is definitely secure for the time being however she has now gone three straight tournaments without a title.

She last won an event back in Charleston however in Stuttgart and Madrid, the Dane suffered defeats at the hands of Julia Goerges. More recently in Rome the world number one made the women's semifinal however a resurgent Maria Sharapova eliminated Wozniacki from that draw and now the top ranked 20 year old is starting to look less and less like French Open title threat.

If she can best a field in Brussels that includes Petra Kvitova, the titlist from Madrid, then that could sway opinions for certain.

Other key players in the field for Brussels include Vera Zvonareva, Jelena Jankovic, and Francesca Schiavone. Dominika Cibulkova is also dangerous as is Julia Goerges, the Stuttgart titlist.

The qualifying tournament is nearing completion with a mixture of qualies and main draw matches scheduled for Monday, May 16th.
