Nadia Petrova takes on Jarmila Gajdosova this afternoon in the second round of the WTA Estoril Open (12:30 BST start).

Petrova wasted little time in booking her place in round two, seeings off Portuguese wildcard entrant Barbara Luz in straight sets, 6-0 6-1 on Monday.

The Russian has made a great start to the clay court season and could be a title contender this week.

"It was a good start," said the two-time French Open semi-finalist after Monday's win. "I hadn't played a match on red clay until this event.

"This was a perfect warm-up match for me."

Petrova, who is aiming to get back into the top ten, will be confident of seeing off Jarmila Gajdosova in round two.

Having achieved comfortable wins against her in 2010 and 2011, the world No. 35 should have the momentum today.

Prediction: Petrova in two.
