Francesca Schiavone takes on Klara Zakopalova later today in the third round at Wimbledon 2012 (11:30 BST start).

Schiavone has fallen down the rankings this year, but recent results have been encouraging, and it looks like she’s back on song. After seeing off Laura Robson in round one at the All-England Club, she beat Kristyna Pliskova to set up today's clash with an in-form Zakopalova.

Zakopalova has produced some good performances recently, including an impressive effort at Roland Garros against eventual champion Maria Sharapova. The switch to grass courts hasn’t held the Czech back, and she set up this contest with a superb straight sets win over No. 13 seed Dominika Cibulkova, and a 2-6 6-1 6-2 dismissal of Olga Govortsova.

Schiavone beat Zakopalova twice in 2004, but besides that the two players have never met in WTA competition. At this stage in their careers, only four players separate these two in the world rankings. This could be an entertaining tie.

Prediction: Zakopalova in three.
