Wimbledon 2012 final - Serena Williams vs. Agnieszka Radwanska (14:00 BST)

Four-time champion Serena Williams takes on Agnieszka Radwanska this afternoon in the final of Wimbledon 2012 (14:00 BST start).

After almost two weeks of superb tennis at the All-England Club, Williams and Radwanska compete in the final of Wimbledon 2012 this afternoon, with the stakes high for both players.

Serena is looking to win her first Grand Slam since 2010, while Radwanska is aiming to win the first of her career.

Williams floundered in round one of the French Open this year, but like all of the greats she has bounced back, stringing together an impressive run at SW19. Her last win was against world No. 2 and Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka. The Belarusian fought hard, but was unable to prevent a 6-3 7-6 loss.

Radwanska is in some respects a surprise finalist, though anyone who has followed her progress in lower tier events would probably agree that it was only a matter of time before the Pole started to excel at the top level. She recorded a 6-3 6-4 triumph over Angelique Kerber on Thursday.

Williams easily defeated Radwanska twice in 2008, and the two players have not met competitively since. Interestingly, Serena bagelled Radwanska, at Wimbledon, in the last set played between the two players. The American is the huge odds-on favourite with bookmakers to win today's clash, and it will take a huge performance from Radwanska to prevent that happening.

Prediction: Williams in two.
