WWE - Brock Lesnar in Miami as WrestleMania 28 speculation continues

Speculation continues that Brock Lesnar could make his WWE return as soon as tonight at WrestleMania 28, where The Rock vs. John Cena headlines WWE's biggest show of the year.

Update: Brock Lesnar re-signs with WWE - follow link for more details.

Lesnar, who announced his retirement from the UFC at the end of 2011 following a first round defeat to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141, has had little to say about his plans for the future over the past few months.

But his retirement came shortly after it emerged that he had the option to return to WWE for a WrestleMania payday - something that was almost certainly never going to happen while he was still an active UFC fighter.

A return in time for WrestleMania 28 was always thought to be unlikely given that WWE had already agreed to bring back The Rock to be their big draw and the focal point for promotion.

But having him show up in Miami to promote a fight for in twelve months time at WrestleMania 29 - or possibly as soon as this summer at Summerslam - now appears to be a possibility, especially as UFC president Dana White has confirmed that Lesnar is legally able to appear at WrestleMania.

Lesnar's WrestleMania history:
After debuting on television the night after WrestleMania X8, Lesnar was eventually given the nickname 'The Next Big Thing' and after winning the 2003 Royal Rumble went on to face WWE champion Kurt Angle in the main event of WrestleMania XIX.

Lesnar won that match, which is largely remembered for him botching a shooting star press and landing head first on Angle. This stunned Lesnar and forced Angle to improvise the finish of the match.

Lesnar suffered a severe concussion from the move.

2004 saw Lesnar head to WrestleMania XX at Madison Square Garden to take on Bill Goldberg. Behind the scenes, it was widely known that the match would be Goldberg's last in WWE, but only days before WrestleMania 20, rumours surfaced that Lesnar was also on his way out in order to pursue a career in the NFL.

Lesnar vs. Goldberg became a fiasco as the New York crowd jeered and heckled both wrestlers throughout the match, which Goldberg won.

Afterwards, both men received Stone Cold Stunners from Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was the special guest referee for the match.

His move to the National Football League didn't work out, and Lesnar went turned on to MMA before becoming the UFC Heavyweight champion.

Crunchsports.com will have full, live coverage of WrestleMania 28 on Sunday night from 00:00 BST (20:00 EST).
