Preview:

Both teams need this victory as only one Top 16 berth is left in Group C following the qualification of Barcelona (7-0), Panathinaikos (5-2) and Fenerbahce Ulker (5-2).

Milano (2-5) is currently in fourth spot while Bayern is tied with PGE Turow at the bottom with 1-6 records.

In their first meeting this season, Milano posted an 81-74 victory at the Audi Dome. Daniel Hackett and Joe Ragland led the Italian champions with 16 points each.

Milano is determined to get back on track after back-to-back defeats to Fenerbahce (74-80) and Barcelona (80-84).

Former NBA player Samardo Samuels (13.6 ppg, 6 rpg) has been the most consistent performer for Milano in the Euroleague and the Jamaican center will get help from Hackett (11.4 ppg, 4.7 apg) on the scoring end.

Alessandro Gentile (10 ppg), Marshon Brooks (9.3 ppg) and Joe Ragland (8.6 ppg) are also offensive threats for Milano, which is coming off a 96-61 thrashing of Pesaro in the Italian League last Sunday.

Bayern, meanwhile, has lost its last five games in the Euroleague.

Last week, the German champions lost to Panathinaikos 72-87 in Athens.

Nihad Djedovic (11.7 ppg) and Dusko Savanovic (11.4 ppg) will lead Bayern’s attacks while big man John Bryant (11 ppg, 8.7 rpg) is expected to make his presence felt inside.

Late acquisition Bo McCalebb (9.5 ppg, 4 apg) is another player to watch for the Bavarian giants. The US-born Macedonian guard had 14 points and 13 assists in their 112-107 overtime win over Telekom Baskets Bonn in the Bundesliga over the weekend.

Harry James' love for sports began in his high school basketball days. Sadly, an injury meant he couldn't further his NBA dreams, but the hooper's loss is our gain as he then found journalism.
