The NCAA college basketball tournament continued on Friday as the North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas Jayhawks advanced in the first two games.

The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Kansas Jayhawks both advanced in the NCAA March Madness tournament on Friday night as both schools faced relatively low seeds for this point in the tournament.

North Carolina demolished Marquette 81-63 to advance to the Elite 8 where they will face the winner between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Kentucky Wildcats, a game that takes place later tonight.

Kansas defeated Richmond 77-57 in San Antonio and now the Jayhawks await the winner between VCU and Florida State, two schools that are seeded quite low in the Southwest Region.

The Elite 8 will be set before the end of the night and tomorrow's action features the Connecticut Huskies vs the Arizona Wildcats in one regional final with the Butler Bulldogs scheduled to face the Florida Gators in another regional final.
