Belarus vs. Canada takes place today at the 2015 IIHF World Championships.

Canada are undoubtedly the best team in the competition as they have yet to lose a game having topped Group A.

They have won all seven games and they just cannot stop scoring as they have fired home 49 goals and have only conceded 14.

Canada come into this encounter on the back of a stunning 10-1 win over Austria – they were so dominant they had 46 shots on goal compared to Austria’s 15.

They take on Belarus who finished up in fourth place in Group B having won four and lost three of their round robin matches.

To see how on fire Canada have been in front of goal Belarus have only scored 20 goals so if they get in the mood they could totally destroy Belarus.

Belarus made sure they secured a place in the quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over Norway who failed to qualify after finishing sixth on the ladder.

Goals from Alexei Kalyuzhny, Andrej Kostitsyn and Dmitri Korobov ensured a 3-2 win for Belarus against Norway but they will need to be more clinical in front of goal against the Canadians.

You would think that the goalkeeper ready to face a rampant Canada side would be dreading it, but that is not the case with Kevin Lalande.

Lalande was actually born in Canada and cannot wait to test his skills against some of the best players in the world.

He said: “If you’d told me a couple of years ago in that I’d be in the Czech Republic wearing a Belarus jersey and playing against Canada I’d have said you were crazy but now it’s something I’m really looking forward to.

“I’m excited and it’s going to be a lot of fun no matter what the score is.”
