A recent report from NHL.com states that the Vancouver Canucks will be short Aaron Rome for the rest of this year's playoffs.

NHL.com have recently published a report where they state that "The Vancouver Canucks will be without Aaron Rome for the rest of the Stanley Cup Final."

The defenseman delivered what has been deemed a late hit to Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton, a player who himself will now miss the remainder of the post-season as a result of the hit.

Mike Murphy, NHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations made the following comment on the matter: "The hit by Rome was clearly beyond what is acceptable in terms of how late it was delivered after Horton had released the puck and it caused a significant injury."

Game four of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals takes place on Wednesday night from Boston (8pm ET; 5pm PT) with the Canucks leading the series 2-1.
