Mesut Ozil's "genius" can guide Arsenal to the Premier League title this season, according to his former Real Madrid team-mate Sami Khedira.
Ozil has made a superb start to the season since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid in a £42.4million deal at the start of September, helping the Gunners claim top spot in the Premier League.
And Khedira believes his fellow German international has the extra quality which Arsene Wenger's side required to end their trophy drought, which is now in its ninth year.
"They already had a strong team in any case, but Mesut makes them into the best team in England," the midfielder told the Daily Mirror.
"I am sure he can be the player that makes things happen for them and win them the championship.
"Mesut is a genius on the field, there is no other way to describe him."
Khedira also admitted that Ozil's departure from the Bernabeu last month has come as a blow to the Los Blancos dressing room.
"There was some disappointment among Madrid's players because he is the best in the world in his position, but I understand his decision as a player and a friend," he added.
