Yaya Sanogo (back), Lukas Podolski (hamstring), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby (both knee) are also missing for the Gunners.
Dortmund travel to north London without long-term injury absentees Lukasz Piszczek, captain Sebastian Kehl and Ilkay Gundogan.
What they've said ahead of kick-off:
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "At the time [of the last meeting between the sides in 2011] they were short of experience in the Champions League and since then they have reached the final last year, so they will have more confidence. The structure of the team and the quality of the team is similar.
"[German teams] have the desire to play, to play with a positive attitude and they have produced many good players. We have some German players and know they are quality. It makes it an open game because they don't hide and we don't hide, so it should be an exciting game tomorrow."
Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp: "This team (Arsenal) missed one player and maybe it can be Mesut Ozil. He is technically perfect, he is fast and has developed a drive to goal. He is very intelligent, can play in any team. He has everything, is natural and it works very well."
