Team News:

Bayern Munich have doubts over Bastian Schweinsteiger (ankle), who was injured during Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Freiburg.

Javi Martinez (abdominal) is also a doubt and both will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is without Thiago Alcantra (ankle) for up to two months, while Holger Badstuber (knee) is a long-term injury absentee.

Chelsea have defender David Luiz (hamstring) available for the first time this season, while playmaker Juan Mata could be handed a place in the starting line-up.

New signings Willian and Samuel Eto'o, who have joined the club from Anzhi Makhachkala, will not feature.

What they've said ahead of kick-off:

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "It’s not about me and Pep. It's about Chelsea and it's about Bayern Munich. It's about a Super Cup where the European champion is playing against the Europa League champion.

"Pep is not European champion and I'm not Europa League champion. We just coach now the European champion and the Europa League champion. This is not about us. It's about Chelsea and Bayern."

Pep Guardiola: "Mourinho is always very, very good...with quick counter attacks. He is a master at that and everybody knows he is an excellent, excellent trainer.

"Bastian is better but we are going to check and evaluate his ankle. In the morning I will speak with the doctors and we will decide. Hopefully he will play."
