Bayern Munich play host to Barcelona tonight in the first leg Champions League semi-final tie.

Bayern are without striker Mario Mandzukic who is suspended, while Toni Kroos (knee) remains sidelined with the injury picked up in the first leg of the quarter-finals.

The hosts are expecting Bastian Schweinsteiger (hamstring) to be available.

Barcelona travel to Munich with forward Lionel Messi (hamstring) back in training. A decision will be made on his inclusion in the starting line-up shortly before kick-off.

Carles Puyol and Javier Mascherano remain sidelined, while full-back Adriano is suspended.

But Eric Abidal is in contention after starting his first league match in 14 months at the weekend.

Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes expects Messi to feature for the Catalans tonight

"Of course I guess Messi will play tomorrow," he said at his pre-match press conference.

"For us Barca are not just Messi. Barca have a team of many top players. There is [Andres] Iniesta, who is a great player – he was European player of the year – and look at [Gerard] Pique, Xavi, etc. They have a great potential and we are preparing to face an absolute top-class team."

Kick-off is 19:45 BST, with the game live in the UK on ITV.
