Serie A champions AC Milan have ruled themselves out of the race to sign Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who is set to join Barcelona
Real Madrid are also still believed to be keen on the 24-year-old, but Spanish champions Barca are widely expected to completing the signing of the midfielder in the coming days for around £35million.
AC Milan had been linked with Fabregas in recent weeks, but vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted that their interest has ended.
He told the club's official website: "Fabregas will not join us because he will join a different club.".
Fabregas, who has been in Barcelona this week on holiday, has admitted that he would have "no problems" leaving Arsenal to return to his boyhood club.
"I'm calm and optimistic," he said this week about his future. "I got nothing to say and there's nothing I can speak of.
"If something happens... it's because it has to happen."
