Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin has confirmed that Chelsea have held talks with his agent.
Guarin was linked with Chelsea back in 2011, but the Colombia international eventually opted to join Inter from Porto at the start of 2012.
In recent weeks, the 27-year-old has been linked with Manchester United, as well as Chelsea, and a British newspaper reported last week that the Blues are now favourites to sign him.
Guarin insists he is still open to staying with Inter, however.
"I can not deny there is something, I haven’t spoken with Mourinho but my agent did," he told reporters.
"However, I hope Inter consider my will to stay."
Guarin's agent, Marcelo Ferreyra, had last week said of a possible January transfer: "We have already been to London with Inter and met with Chelsea directors to make their interest formal.
"There have been talks as part of negotiations. If both clubs reach an agreement, a transfer is an option, but Fredy is happy at Inter as well if they don't agree terms.
"Fredy feels important under [coach Walter] Mazzarri. The upcoming World Cup also plays a role. We will also meet with [Inter president Erick] Thohir to see what Inter's project looks like."
