Man City could sign Chelsea FC target Stevan Jovetic in €30m deal – report

Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, is reportedly closing in on a €30million move to Manchester City.

Jovetic is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League and has been linked with Chelsea for some time, while Arsenal have previously shown interest.

Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo was last month reported to have tabled a bid in the region of €22m for the 22-year-old, only for the Viola to insist he is not for sale.

But according to Goal.com, talks between Fiorentina and Man City are progressing well after the Premier League champions indiciated they were ready to meet the Serie A side’s €30m valuation.

City boss Roberto Mancini is keen on strengthening his options in attack, despite already having Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli, Edin Dezko, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Roque Santa Cruz on the books at the Etihad Stadium.

The Italian is believed to have stepped up his interest in Jovetic as a result of being beaten to the signature of Robin van Persie by rivals Manchester United.

Adebayor and Santa Cruz could be offloaded by City in the next week, while the arrival of Jovetic would likely lead to Dzeko being sold, with a move to Italy likely.
