It’s been an entertaining competition and it all comes to a climax this weekend. First, we have the two semi-final matches, followed by a third-place play-off and the eagerly anticipated final.

So – who competes for Gold Cup glory?

Semi-Final One:
USA vs. Jamaica (Wednesday 23:00 BST)

Now they go up against Jamaica, who have been among the brightest shining lights in this tournament with their solid displays in the group stage which continued in the same vein when they met Haiti on Sunday.

Semi-Final Two:
Panama vs. Mexico (Thursday 02:00 BST)
On the basis of their results, it’s difficult to argue that Panama deserve to reach the final again because it’s conceivable they could get there without winning a match, which would make something of a mockery of proceedings.

Mexico, in contrast, have given Cuba a 6-0 thrashing, scored four goals in a thrilling draw with Trinidad & Tobago and then edged out Costa Rica deep in stoppage time of extra time in their quarter-final courtesy of an Andres Guardado penalty.

There is little doubt that if the Mexicans play to their potential they should be too good for Panama because they have a much stronger squad, but a strong team ethic can count for plenty in football and that’s what the underdogs appear to have – and it is especially important in international tournaments such as this.
