Barcelona are reportedly preparing to make a £40million bid for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale this summer
The 21-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter Milan all showing interest.
Bale has been in superb form for Spurs this season and according to The People, Spanish champions Barca are preparing to make their move at the end of the season.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp reportedly fears that the only way he can hang on to his prize asset in the summer is to guarantee him Champions League football next season, which would mean Spurs either have to win the trophy at the first attempt or finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Reports last month suggested Redknapp would only let the Welshman leave White Hart Lane for a world record £100m, although it is widely expected that should Bale look to move that the north London club would reluctantly sell for less than half that figure.
