Javier Hernandez completes West Ham United medical ahead of transfer

Crunch Sports Staff in Soccer 24 Jul 2017

Javier Hernandez is on the brink of completing his move to West Ham United after reportedly completing a medical on Monday.

The Mexican striker was photographed with a supporter outside the London Independent Hospital, where he is believed to have been undergoing tests ahead of finalising his move from Bayer Leverkusen.

Hernandez, who is his country's all-time leading scorer with 48 goals in 96 caps, is set to be the fifth arrival at the London Stadium this summer, as the Hammers aim to build on their 11th-place finish last season.

Slaven Bilic has already strengthened his squad by signing the likes of Marko Arnautovic for £25 million and Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer, while England goalkeeper Joe Hart has joined on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

In two years at Leverkusen, Hernandez scored 39 goals in 76 appearances for Leverkusen after arriving from Manchester United, where he netted 59 times during his first spell in the Premier League from 2010 to 2015.
