Liverpool play host to Southampton this afternoon in the Premier League (15:00 GMT).

Liverpool have midfielder Lucas Leiva (thigh) back in contention for the first time in three months.

The Brazil international is joined in Brendan Rodgers' squad by Joe Cole (hamstring), who missed the midweek defeat at Tottenham.

Defender Andre Wisdom (knee) is fully fit and could start, which may see Stewart Downing drop to the bench.

Southampton travel to Anfield with goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga likely to start despite several high-profile mistakes in recent weeks, including the one that saw Norwich score an equaliser in midweek.

Danny Fox (knee) could be involved, but full-back Frazer Richardson (thigh) and Richard Chaplow (knock) are not yet ready to return.
