Fiorentina are reportedly keen on signing Javier Hernandez as Manchester United continue to be linked with Porto winger James Rodriguez.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested Hernandez's future at Old Trafford could be in some doubt following the arrival of Robin van Persie from Arsenal in August.
Chicharito has slipped down the pecking order at United and is now Sir Alex Ferguson's fourth choice striker, behind Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.
Reports in South America in recent days have suggested that United are preparing to step up their interest in Rodriguez, and according to reports in Italy, Serie A side Fiorentina are preparing to make their move for Hernandez.
The Italians are said to be prepared to match the Mexico international's £80,000-a-week wage demands and could launch a bid for the forward in January.
Real Madrid have also shown interest in Hernandez in recent months, while there has been talk of trying to tempt Porto to consider a part-exchange deal involving Rodriguez.
The Colombia international still has four years left on his contract at Porto, but has hinted that he could be open to a move away from the club in the future.
According to reports in his homeland, United are lining up a £30million January bid.
"We all know that Manchester United are a great club," Rodriguez was quoted as saying this week.
"England is a great league but I'm thinking of Porto for now. We're having a good time and personally I'm feeling fine and focused on there."
