Robin van Persie believes his partnership with Wayne Rooney at Manchester United is proof that "good players can always play together".
Last season, Rooney had been asked to play in a wide role at times under Sir Alex Ferguson, who appeared to be reluctant to use the pair in tandem.
But under David Moyes, the England international - who during the summer was linked with a move away from Old Trafford after being asked to play out of position - has played down the middle alongside Van Persie.
The pair have been in good form this season, and Netherlands international Van Persie believes United's strikers are showing that they work well together.
"Wayne's a great player," he said.
"In my opinion good players can always play together and I think we showed that against Stoke.
"We showed it last season, we showed it earlier this season and hopefully we can keep showing that because we do want to play together.
"But don't forget Chicharito because he's a great player. He's a real role model to all footballers. He works so hard, I'm a really big fan of his.
"We will need all of our strikers."
