Gareth Bale urged to stay at Real Madrid CF

Gareth Bale, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, has been urged to remain at Real Madrid.

Wales manager Chris Coleman says he would prefer if Bale remained at Real and is tipping the winger to turn things around in Spain.

After a disappointing second season in the Spanish capital, Bale’s future has become has source of intense debate.

A move back to the Premier League has been mooted, but Coleman said he selfishly would prefer to see his talisman remaining where he is.

“If I’m being selfish, from a manager’s point of view in terms of one week getting Gareth to come and play with us, I would rather him stay with Madrid, because the quality is obviously there in La Liga, but the physicality is different,” Coleman told Sky Sports.

The Welsh boss feels Bale is less likely to suffer from burnout if he stays in Madrid.

“The Premier League is the most unforgiving league on the planet and players get weary halfway through it, physically it is very demanding. La Liga is slightly different,” he added.

“The pressure is on him because he is playing for Madrid and every time he walks on the pitch the spotlight is on him; it’s not easy to deal with and there are only certain players that can deal with that and Gareth is one of those players.
