Pedro told he has FC Barcelona future

Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique wants Manchester United target Pedro to stay at Camp Nou, but admits he doesn’t know what the future holds for the forward.

The Spain international has been targeted by United and boss Louis van Gaal is prepared to pay Pedro’s release clause, which is set at £22million.

It appeared the 28-year-old was poised for a move to Old Trafford but now Enrique has made it clear he wants him to stay.

“Pedro is a high-level player and as a coach I want him to stay here, but is his decision,” he said.

“There will only be exits if someone wants to leave and at the moment we don’t have news about this.”

Pedro is after regular first-team football as he is below Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar in the pecking order at Barca and he made just 15 starts in La Liga last season as he often had to settle for a place on the bench for the Catalan giants.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool were all also said to be interested in Pedro earlier in the summer but United are the favourites to land him, as Van Gaal looks for more firepower following Robin van Persie’s exit and the expected imminent departure of Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain.
