CSKA Moscow have confirmed that Keisuke Honda, who has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, is in talks with Lazio.
CSKA President Yevgeny Giner told Radio Mayak: "I can confirm that some Lazio officials came to Moscow to discuss a deal for Honda.
"The negotiations are still on going as we have not reached an agreement.
"Currently our valuations are around €2-3million apart. This could be sorted by tomorrow.
"I would not say the transfer will defiantly happen, but let's see what will happen in the coming days."
Reports last week suggested that United had entered the race to sign the 25-year-old, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a number of occasions over the past twelve months.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both shown interest in the Japan international, with recent reports in his homeland suggesting both clubs were considering January bids for the playmaker.
Reports in Italy over the past few days have suggested that Lazio were looking to secure a loan move to the Stadio Olimpico this month ahead of a permanent deal going through in the summer.
Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in the midfielder.
