Udinese defender Mehdi Benatia, who has recently been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, is reportedly a target for Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Morocco international, who can play at centre-back or right-back, is under contract with Udinese until 2015 but admitted towards the end of last year that he was unlikely to still be at Udinese next season.

And according to Sports.ru, mega-rich Anzhi are hoping to wrap up a deal for the 24-year-old before the Russian transfer window closes on January 24th.

United are still believed to be showing interest in Benatia, while Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have also been keeping a close eye on him.
