Man Utd midfielder Paul Scholes (knee) is expected to be back in contention for the first time since January.
Captain Nemanja Vidic (calf) is also available again, but striker Danny Welbeck (knee) definitely misses the game.
Chelsea travel to Old Trafford with left-back Ashley Cole back from his European suspension.
Eden Hazard (knock) will be assessed ahead of kick-off after coming off as a precaution during Thursday night's Europa League semi-final defeat of Baslel, but may start on the bench as Rafael Benitez considers Wednesday's crucial clash with Tottenham.
Demba Ba is available again after being cup-tied in midweek and could start up front.
Oriol Romeu (knee) remains sidelined.
What they've said ahead of kick-off:
Sir Alex Ferguson: "This team of champions is not going away - we are here for the long ride. We will get better and if we apply ourselves in our normal fashion I see our 20th league title as nothing but the start of another decade of success.
"Whether I will be here to oversee another decade of success remains to be seen.
"I don't live in a fantasy world but I believe we have every reason to feel confident about the future of Manchester United."
Rafael Benitez: "Now they (the players) realise how important every single game is.
"To get three points in every game will be massive because we are so close. We have to do our job and hopefully other teams will make mistakes."
