Premier League – Newcastle United vs. Liverpool FC kick-off time

Newcastle vs. Liverpool takes place today in the Premier League.

The game, which takes place at St James’ Park, is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT and airs live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports 1/Sky Sports 1 HD and online (see here).

Speaking ahead of the game, Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has admitted that he could make some major changes to his side for the game against Liverpool. A host of players, including Moussa Sissoko, Fabricio Coloccini, Gini Wijnaldum and Daryl Janmaat all played poorly in last weekend’s 5-1 defeat  at Crystal Palace and could be axed for the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side. When asked if anybody was guaranteed their place in the team, the Magpies boss said: “No, nobody is. “And over the last two performances there could be very little argument for many people if they don’t play. “It’s important we pick the right team on Sunday and pick those who can handle this occasion – and can handle this pressure and give a good performance.” Meanwhile, midfielder Jordan Henderson is keen to force his way into the Liverpool side on a regular basis and help the Reds continue their fine recent form under Klopp. The former Sunderland midfielder has not started a match since being substituted in the 1-0 victory against Bournemouth in August because of a heel injury. Henderson then picked up a metatarsal injury in training and he admits it has been a frustrating time. He has made substitute appearances in the recent victories against Swansea City and Southampton and hopes to feature against Newcastle. “The lads have been outstanding, especially over the last month or so,” Henderson said. “We’ve really taken it up a gear and you’ve seen that in the performances and the results. Now I want to contribute. “You feel helpless when things aren’t going well and you want to be in the team to try and turn things round and make things right. Then, on the other hand, when the team is doing very well you want to be part of it, you want to be playing. “At the minute we are looking very strong. We have got good depth and we are very confident at the minute. We have to keep that consistency and that confidence high.”
