Next Liverpool FC manager betting update – Jurgen Klopp huge favourite

After parting company with Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool are keen to have a new manager in place before their next Premier League match at Tottenham on October 17th.

Rodgers was axed in the wake of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Everton and the former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is the bookmakers’ favourite to be named as Liverpool’s new manager.

Carlo Ancelotti and Frank de Boer are also being linked with the vacancy, but 48-year-old Klopp is 1/10 at time of writing to land the job in bet365’s Next Liverpool Manager Odds market.
Klopp has been out of management since he stepped down at Dortmund in May having won two Bundesliga titles with the German side and leading them to the 2013 Champions League final.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon issued a joint statement with principal owner John W Henry and chairman Tom Werner on Sunday which read: “We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Brendan Rodgers for the significant contribution he has made to the club and express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment.

“All of us have experienced some wonderful moments with Brendan as manager and we are confident he will enjoy a long career in the game.

“Although this has been a difficult decision, we believe it provides us with the best opportunity for success on the pitch. Ambition and winning are at the heart of what we want to bring to Liverpool and we believe this change gives us the best opportunity to deliver it.

“The search for a new manager is underway and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner.”

Rodgers had arrived at Liverpool in the summer of 2012 after time in charge at Watford, Reading and Swansea, his teams gaining a reputation for playing good football.

His time in charge of Liverpool almost took them to their first ever Premier League title, a run of 11 wins in a row taking them to the verge of the title during the 2013-14 season only to lose out in the end to Manchester City.

That summer saw the sale of Luis Suarez and, after scoring over 100 goals during 2013-14 they only scored 52 the following campaign as they finished sixth.

This season has been similarly inconsistent, the side winning their first two league games but were then beaten 3-0 at home by West Ham. The 1-1 draw at Everton leaves them 10th in the Premier League table.
