Watford have dismissed reports linking teenage defender Tommie Hoban with a move to Arsenal.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City are believed to be monitoring the 17-year-old, who joined the nPower Championship in 2009 after being released from the Gunners' youth academy.

But Watford's Head of Football Business, Ross Wilson, insists the club have not received any approaches for the Republic of Ireland Under-17 international.

"There have been no approaches from any club for the player," Wilson confirmed to the Watford Observer.

Hoban made his debut for Watford's first team at the end of last season before signing professional terms just three days later.
