Liverpool FC's Pepe Reina wants to stay at Anfield for another five years

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina believes he could stay at the club for another five years.

The Spain international was linked with a move away from Merseyside during the summer, with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid both thought to be interested in signing the 29-year-old.

Reina later confirmed he was happy at the club, and after moving to Liverpool in 2005 now believes he can complete a decade at Anfield.

"The intention is to continue here," he told The People.

"When I came here I never thought I would stay for seven years.

"Now the plan is to make it 10 or 12. Everyone is different but I have been lucky that my wife is very happy here and my children as well.

"I’m a Scouser now. The affection of the people here is tremendous and I really appreciate it."
