International Champions Cup – Real Madrid CF vs. AC Milan Live Stream and Match Preview

Real Madrid take on AC Milan this afternoon in the International Champions Cup.

The game takes place at Shanghai Stadium and is scheduled to start at 13:00 BST.

Preview:

Real Madrid have begun to pick up some steam following a stuttering start to pre-season that saw them perform poorly in a defeat to Roma. Real rolled over Manchester City as Cristiano Ronaldo got on the scoresheet for the first time this summer in a 4-1 win, and they then made it back-to-back victories with a comfortable 3-0 win over Inter Milan.

The Spanish giants will now aim to make it three-in-a-row when they take on the other half of Milan, and manager Rafael Benitez believes his side is starting to take shape with just under a month to go before the start of the season.

“In general terms, there are many positive things again to take with us,” he told reporters after the victory over his old side, Inter. “To see that we take our chances is a satisfaction because the work is paying off. We played well, we scored goals and didn’t concede. We still have work to do but the key has been the very good attitude shown by the players. This allows us to defend and attack well.”
Next up for Real Madrid is a showdown with Italian giants AC Milan who, like them, have undergone a summer of change in the manager’s office and on the pitch. Sinisa Mihajlovic left Sampdoria to take the reins at the San Siro, following the departure of Filippo Inzaghi, and he has already splashed the cash to bring in the likes of Carlos Bacca and Andrea Bertolacci.

They bounced back from a friendly loss to Lyon to get the better of city rivals Inter last time out, and Mihajlovic believes his team is improving every day with the new Italian season drawing ever closer.

“I really think we are getting better every day,” Mihajlovic told reporters after the win over Inter Milan. “We played well in the first half [against Inter], fought hard and put them under pressure so I am very happy. The improvement I want is starting to show already.”
