Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is adamant that strike duo Steven Fletcher and Connor Wickham will not be leaving the club before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
Both players started Saturday's 2-2 draw at West Brom and Fletcher is interesting Hull City, who are keen to sign a replacement for Shane Long who recently joined Southampton, while Crystal Palace are being linked with Wickham.
Wickham only has 12 months left on his contract at the Stadium of Light, but Poyet is keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
"They're staying!" he said.
"I'm a big believer that we need to stop the transfer window on the last day before we start the season.
"I can go to West Brom and (Saidho) Berahino, who scored against us, could be playing for us tomorrow. It's not right. I'm sorry, but it’s not right.
"Sometimes you can take a player from a team that is going to be competing with you. I don't like it. But it's the way it is and we are all the same. I don't want any offers."
