Alexandr Dolgopolov takes on Yen-Hsun Lu later today in the second round of the Winston-Salem Open (17:00 BST start).
Dolgopolov is the fourth seed this week at the Winston-Salem Open and will be hoping to reach the latter stages. There’s a strong field in action this week, however, and at some point it’s likely that he’ll run into one of the ATP’s best hard ourt players.
Having received a bye in the first round. Dolgopolov begins his campaign today with a second round match against Lu, who saw off a second set comeback from Lukas Lacko in round one on Monday to clinch a 6-3 7-6 victory.
Dolgopolov holds a 2-0 head-to-head record against the world No. 64, but it is worth bearing in mind that both of these contests went to a third set.
Lu has never managed to take full control of any match against the Ukrainian, but he does have the ability to trouble the world No. 15. Expect another battle between these two players on Court 2. Dolgopolov should be able to tough it out, but this could be a close match.
Prediction: Dolgopolov in three.
