Marion Bartoli is into the quarterfinals of the 2011 French Open as Gisela Dulko was forced to withdraw with an injury in their fourth round match.
Marion Bartoli is through to the final eight at Roland Garros, a result that promises to delight French tennis fans. The former Wimbledon finalist got through to the fourth round with a win over Gisela Dulko of Argentina.
Dulko was already losing in the match 5-7, 0-1 when she was forced to retire and early tweets on the matter are suggesting it may have been her hamstring or thigh strain.
Bartoli, before this year's event, had never been past the fourth round of the French Open but there is no reason for her to be satisfied with the result. Her next match will be against either Daniela Hantuchova or Svetlana Kuznetsova, two players that Bartoli can compete against at this point.
Bartoli, 26 years old, is playing in her 35th consecutive Grand Slam tournament and 38th overall however this is just the third time that she has advanced to the quarterfinal round.
