Djokovic was tested in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters on Saturday, but was able to come back from a set down to deny Roger Federer in an exciting three set battle. The 17-time slam winner had the early momentum, approaching the net and putting Djokovic on the back foot, but the Serb responded superbly to claim a 4-6 6-3 6-2 triumph.

"The key was just to hang in there and stay with him," said Djokovic.

"I knew that he was going to be very aggressive from the start coming to the net. He used his opportunities really well. He was very efficient at the net. Then I tried to decrease the number of unforced errors and step in when it's needed. I did pretty well in the second and the third."

Djokovic can now look forward to a meeting with defending champion Ferrer in the final.

Ferrer now has extra reason to be fond of this event, having snapped a nine-match losing streak against Rafael Nadal by beating him 6-3 7-5 in the semi-finals.

"I'm very happy. I'm in the final again in Paris Bercy," said the world No. 3 on Saturday evening.

"It was a very good match for me.

"I played maybe my best match this season. I was very aggressive with my forehand and with my shots. Paris is very special for me. I made my first final of a Grand Slam in Roland Garros; last year I won my first Masters 1000 title; now I'm in the final again in Paris."

Djokovic has won his last four matches against Ferrer and will enter the tie with a 10-5 head-to-head record against the 31-year-old.

As you'd expect, Ferrer is preparing himself for a difficult contest.

"It's going to be a very difficult match," admitted the Spaniard.

"I need to play very good to win tomorrow. I think too I have to play similar like today and take my chance if I will have one chance."
