Wimbledon 2013 gets underway today and we've picked out the best matches from today's Order of Play at SW19...
1. Maria Sharapova vs. Kristina Mladenovic (2nd on Centre Court)
On paper this should be a very one-sided victory for Sharapova, but we were extremely impressed when watching Mladenovic at Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. The Frenchwoman has a cannon of a serve and a world class backhand.
She probably doesn't move well enough on the grass to take Sharapova down but if she serves well, she could make life extremely uncomfortable for the world No. 2.
2. Lleyton Hewitt vs. Stanislas Wawrinka (3rd on Court One)
Easily the pick of the matches on day one. Wawrinka is enjoying the best season of his career, and made the Madrid Masters final last month before reaching the quarter-finals of the French Open for the first time. He's rejuvenated under the guidance of new coach Magnus Norman and we've seen in the past that he has the game to be extremely dangerous on grass.
Hewitt stunned everybody with his tennis at Queen's and was unlucky not to make the final there. He remains one of the most dangerous floaters, especially on grass and he will fancy his chances here.
3. Sloane Stephens vs. Jamie Hampton (Last on Court 18)
This is an intriguing clash between two of the most promising young players in the women's game. Hampton in particular has been extremely impressive over the past month and won her first career title at Eastbourne on Saturday.
However, Stephens has known her for a long time and knows her game back to front while Hampton will be a little tired after all the matches she's played recently so it's a tough one to call.
