Sam Stosur takes on Petra Cetkovska later today in the third round of the 2012 WTA Doha Open.

After winning her opening match at this week's Doha Open, it looks like Stosur is set for a return to form after a somewhat disappointing start to the season.

The third seed was tested in round two by Romania’s Sorana Cirstea, but managed to keep her head in a crucial second set tie-breaker to clinch a 6-4 7-6 victory.

Having avenged her Melbourne defeat against Cirstea, Stosur’s next challenge will be a third round showdown against Petra Cetkovska, who met a resurgent Ana Ivanovic in round two and managed to get the better of her in straight sets (6-4 6-4).

Following this win, the Czech may well be in the mood for causing another upset.

Although Stosur and Cetkovska are both experienced players, who have played in over 500 top level matches each, they have yet to meet in a competitive match. It’s perhaps difficult to predict the outcome of this match. A lot will depend on Stosur’s morale, though if she plays with consistency she seems likely to reach the quarter-finals.

 Prediction: Stosur in three.
