Preview:
Two teams that are coming off wins face off in FIVB World League Group 2 tonight as Cuba welcomes Bulgaria at the Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva in Havana.

The Cubans finally picked up their first win and points in Pool C on Sunday after pulling off a 17-25 25-17 25-21 16-25 15-9 victory over Argentina in Mendoza. It was a morale-boosting win for the Caribbean side, which was swept by the Argentinians 18-25 19-25 18-25 in their first meeting. The Cubans were also swept by Canada in Week 1.

Rolando Cepeda and Osmany Santiago Uriarte are the one-two punch of Cuba, which won its only World League title in 1998.

Livan Osoria, Javier Ernesto Jimenez and Felix Emilio Chapman are the other key players for head coach Rodolfo Sánchez.

Bulgaria, meanwhile, split its two meetings against Canada in Botevgrad last week. They lost the first match 20–25 19–25 25–22 21–25 but bounced back with a 21–25 23–25 25–23 25–14 15–9 win in the rematch.

Vladimir Nikolov, Todor Aleksiev and Teodor Todorov are the top guns for the Eastern Europeans.

Cuba swept Bulgaria in last year’s world championship in Poland.
