Agent says Liverpool FC, Man Utd target Marco Reus wanted by a number of clubs

Marco Reus, who has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, is a target for “a number” of top European teams, according to the Borussia Dortmund forward’s agent.

Reus was linked with the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid throughout 2013, but recent reports have suggested both Liverpool and United are weighing up an ambitious move for the player.

Reports in Spain last month suggested Barcelona had already agreed personal terms with Reus, although Dortmund officials later dismissed the claims.

Reus has a £30million buy-out clause in his contract at the Westfalenstadion which can reportedly by triggered at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, but agent Dirk Hebel has refused to rule out a transfer taking place during the current transfer window.

Hebel told Bild: “Marco would make any big European team stronger.

“That’s why it’s completely normal that a number of these major European teams are interested in signing him.

“But his main priority for now is to get back to top fitness and return to the pitch. Everything else is not important at this stage.”

The Germany international, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury which ruled him out of the recent World Cup in Brazil, is under contract until 2017.
