Arraez makes base five times, leads Twins to nail-biting win over Blue Jays

The Minnesota Twins took care of business against powerhouse Toronto Blue Jays thanks to a vintage performance from Venezuelan utility star Luis Arraez.

Arraez reached base five times while recording four hits, a walk and two runs as the Twins slipped past the Blue Jays 8-6 on Sunday’s series finale in Toronto.

“I just try to do my best [out] there. I just want to hit every day, every time I go out there. I try to do my job and I never change my approach,” said Arraez who increased his batting average to a league-leading .358.

The Twins registered three runs in the opener and two more in the second before Trevor Larnach and Gary Sanchez recorded home runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Jose Miranda and Gilberto Celestino were also impressive in the win, collecting two and three hits, respectively.

Minnesota will look to continue its momentum as they head home this Tuesday when they take on the New York Yankees in a three-game series.
