Cavan Biggio will most likely enter the MLB Covid-19 protocols

Toronto Blue Jays’ second baseman, Cavan Biggio, remains uncertain for the upcoming games of his team as he is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Although there is still no certainty around this case, he will most likely be put under the health & safety MLB protocols.

Santiago Espinal’s improved performance this season has made the situation quite difficult for the coach to give Biggio more playing time. The 27-year-old has been striking out at a career-high of 35.7%. The second baseman is in his 4th season in the MLB after being considered a top prospect back in 2016. He updated his contract with the Blue Jays after signing a new contract with the team on March 22, 2022.

After a tough opening game against the Red Sox, the Toronto Blue Jays found the right way to the final victory in the next two occasions. This further helped them climb to the top of the American League with 10 wins and 6 losses. On the other hand, the Boston Red Sox are off to a hesitant start this season as they sit in 10th place with an unattractive 7-9 record.
